I think its a great idea, but at this time, do we really need it as we are downsizing and there is already budget cuts preventing service members from going to certain schools/getting the gear they need?

Maybe in the near future if funding improves?

I've seen these in action, and I must say they are baaaad-asss! There's a video on YouTube of a 12 year old girl making a 1,000 yard shot.

I'll say again, there's no replacement for a well trained soldier, but this sure jump starts some sniper possibilities.

Cost would come down with larger batch construction, as would weight (think of 1st gen "Starlight scope" NVG's).

More waste of money on an overpriced weapons system them some politician is getting kick backs on.
I'm not a weapons expert but I seriously doubt that $27,000 can be justified for one gun.
