Waterboarding Challenge

The latest thing I've been seeing is the Waterboarding challenge (spin off from the ice bucket challenge) to bring awareness to PTSD and Veteran suicide. Some guys are adding bear mace to the equation as well. Have you guys seen this? Thoughts?

With the exception of the ice bucket challenge most of these are just plain stupid. Seriously, this one doesn't surprise me. I just saw one the other day for a Train Challenge. Basically you lay down in between the tracks and let the train pass over The top of you. Not kidding, there's a vid of some dumbass doing this.
But could dumb challenges like these be new methods of Natural Selection?

This is a bit different and I am willing to do almost anything for our service members but this is a tough one. What is more disturbing was this video.

Too Mr. Clay he could not go through SERE school in 1979 when we buried people up to their chest, blind folded them and poured warm water on their heads and telling them we were peeing on them. Or coat them in sugar water and leave them out for the bugs. I guess he believes it is better to have more 9-11 incidents rather than use water boarding to get information. Maybe next 9-11 will claim his mother, wife or child let's see what he thinks about water boarding then.

Two things bother me with this!!
1) Someone will likely drown because of it eventually
2) That poor POW that was tortured and ends up watching something like this because the intent is good, could cause them to have some PTSD flashbacks.

I will end with the famous saying "The road to disaster, is often paved with good intentions".

This is a dumb idea!! How does this raise any sort of awareness? All I can see it doing is causing more harm than good to both the person doing it and those that underwent this form of abuse while being held as a POW.

There are so many other ways to bring attention to different things such as PTSD. No one should support this. If you want to stand in your front yard and pour a bucket of ice cold water on yourself, then go nuts but waterboarding is nothing to make light of.
