What are good programs for vets to find jobs prior to seperation?

I have a former soldier of mine that is looking to voluntarily separate per the recent ALARCAT and MILPER. I want to provide him with the best avenues to set him up for success.

Caveats

-I do not intend to try to influence him to stay in. It is not what he wants.

-I am already tracking ASAP. I am looking for programs that are not commonly known.

Local government, the states all have some sort of unemployment office. Linkedin.com, college, and members you may know that have gotten out and moved onto other careers. ACAP, well mixed feelings about that one, personally waste of time. Get on USAjobs.gov as well.

Any long haul program accross the nation is pushing to have Professiona drivers. There are many links out on the web. The reason I am saying this is due the to the shorage of drivers. They are paying top dollar once qualified GI bill pays for the courses (most of them) and you are a wanted asset (

I've found the TECHEXPO events to be a colossal waste of time. Entirely too many people chasing too many jobs, and EVERY SINGLE RECRUITER THERE tells you to email them a resume. I've been going to them, on and off, since the early 1990s. Have YET to find a job via any of them. . .
