What are some military jobs that accommodate family time?

I don't think you are going to find it. You may be able to go to the National Guard to see if they Active Guard Reserve positions.

A military career is different than a civilian career. Mission comes first in the military.

Admin positions in non deployable units... try to become a member of the unit's or squadron's "In Crowd"...

I would suggest something that is not active duty. Even the National Guard or Reserves are going to have you deploy every so many years.
I would suggest something IT that would allow you to Telework in the future. Another possibility is the Public Health Services commissioned corpsas a medical professional. They can be stationed anywhere and are still active duty.

There are other factors besides specific military job when it comes to family time. Duty station, season during year, unit OPTEMPO and other reasons may result in longer or shorter hours.

As a soldier I can't directly address this from personal experience. My uncle was in the Navy and I can tell you to scratch that from the list. It seems to me that you are going into this with the wrong attitude. Your service is to the nation. While your family is important, I can assure you there will be extended absences from the family. To meet your goal, get an hourly job in your hometown. That will be more consistent with your expressed desire

Danielle Pentecost The responses to date are accurate - regardless of branch, mission comes first. I grew up in a military family and can attest to that fact. Don't take the responses as a negative, since family is important. As long as your priority is family first, then you need to look at the corporate world for employment opportunities rather than the armed forces. Thank you for considering a chance to serve the country.

I know I will deploy that’s not what my question is my question is like a job that I don’t have to work 16+ hours a day. I know I will be away from my family I know I will have to deploy.

If you want family time, don't join the service because mission will come first. Honestly, that's just the way it is. From experience, I had to put things, important family things to the side because of the mission. You better think what are you getting yourself into becfore taking that step.

If "family time" is a critical factor in your decision on what career you should pursue, I think you should reconsider your goal of joining the active duty military. Perhaps a branch of the reserves. Find a career more suitable to your life's priorities.
