Even the National Guard or Reserves are going to have you deploy every so many years.<br />I would suggest something IT that would allow you to Telework in the future. Another possibility is the Public Health Services commissioned corpsas a medical professional. They can be stationed anywhere and are still active duty. My uncle was in the Navy and I can tell you to scratch that from the list. It seems to me that you are going into this with the wrong attitude. Your service is to the nation. While your family is important, I can assure you there will be extended absences from the family. To meet your goal, get an hourly job in your hometown. I grew up in a military family and can attest to that fact. Don&#39;t take the responses as a negative, since family is important. As long as your priority is family first, then you need to look at the corporate world for employment opportunities rather than the armed forces.
