What can cause a soldier's orders to be deleted without command approval?

My soldier just informed me that he has a email from hrc stating that his orders have been deleted due to reclassification (del/def). He has already sent the branch manager an email for more info as to why but wonted to reach out here to try and help him out more.

If they stated for purpose of re-classification it is related to a change in MOS. If he has not submitted and been approved for a reclass he will find out when Branch responds it his inquiry. These type issues are usually resolved quicker by phone, a call that the individual can make. In any case your unit S1 should also be able to see his records to determine the issue.

Alex, HRC rules all your Command as very little to do with it. The only one who can say is his branch manager. Did he reclass? maybe the MOS is no longer open or the requirements have changed. Maybe his class is full for the next year. Could be an accident, only HRC knows.

If he's being reclassed that is the reason. His previous orders were to fill a (most likely) 19K1 position, your Soldier will now be a new MOS going to a new MOS.

What sense would it make to send a Soldier to their last orders position when that old position may not have that MOS at that location? How are you going to send someone who is now ADA and only has four locations they're authorized, to a track unit that doesn't have Patriot missiles?

Have you read the email your soldier told you about and were you cc'd on the one sent to branch? Make sure you are closing the loop on coms.

Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice makes it a crime to disobey a lawful military order or regulation. You can be considered to be in violation of Article 92 if you intentionally violate or fail to follow an order.

Is the Solider in question actually reclassifying to a new MOS? If that is correct that is the explanation why the orders were pulled as they were most likely for the old MOS. I would confirm with the powers that be but that’s my guess with the limited information

Yes, if he is changing his MOS, then his orders will be changed as well.
