To get the conversation started, I believe that the great thing about American Tradition is that it is every tradition. As a nation that prides itself as being a giant melting pot of different people from all over the globe, I believe that the best part about American Tradition is just how much we all celebrate things together regardless of who&#39;s tradition it really is. On Cinco de Mayo we are all out partying, St. Patrick&#39;s Day is the same thing. We all recognize Thanksgiving and Christmas and we understand the importance of Hannukah or Ramadan. I&#39;d like to think that being &quot;American&quot; translates to being self-sufficient, ambitious, just, brave, compassionate, and optimistic. History however focuses on the blemishes, so we have to keep painting a portrait of what things should be...more than what they often are.
