What do you like best about Fort Huachuca?

I love the sunrises and seeing the deer and javalina out and about in the evening and morning time. I also like being able to see the stars at night.

It's really a toss up between the unbelievably mild weather and hiking the canyons after we've had some rains.

Hiking all the trails, Miller's peak, looking at the stars at nighttime, beautiful sunrise/sunset. Relatively little/no humidity

Almost everything. But to narrow it down to the top, I really do love the weather here. It's rarely too hot or too cold for me (I'm from South Texas originally), it doesn't rain that often, I can see the stars most every night and the sunrise/sunset most every day... really not much to complain about other than my allergies (and I'll cope).

I lived out there from 2000-2003 and there are many things that I love out there. From the nice weather to the mountains at sunrise and sunset. If mine and wife's family were closer to AZ, we would be living there.

I loved the stables at Fort Huachuca, when I was single and attending the officer basic course we would go for rides early on Saturday mornings. It was very affordable back in 1988 and 1989. I also liked their officer club but now it may be an all ranks club since I have not been there since 1996. I hated the time it took to get to Tucson, we loved going there but the ride was so boring especially not fun with a newborn and having to haul the bottles with us.

The weather, no where else have I ever been able to eat lunch outside in mid 50 degree sunny days in the middle of January!!!

The proximity to Tombstone, and other historic areas in AZ.

360 degree mountain view!!

Sierra Vista is a Great small town/ community which supports the military!

That was my AIT post so my experience was probably more limited but I really loved the people of Sierra Vista. More than any other "military town" I've been to they were very supportive. The town was big enough to have a lot of services without feeling too large. Also, Daisy Mae's is the best steak house I've ever eaten at.

The cheap bus service (on and off post) was also amazing but that's only a concern for those without cars.

The relationship between the town, Sierra Vista, and the Fort. The activities that both offer that can be enjoyed by all.

Being from the East, Bawstun, to be precise, it was a dream come true. I'd watched westerns and cowboy shows growing up and now, the Army gives me the chance to "Go West!" Visiting Tombstone and the various ghost towns nearby was outstanding! The weather was pleasing too, any snow that fell was gone in couple hours. Seeing the canyons on post and enjoying the nearness of Sierra Vista were other advantages to being assigned to Fort Huachuca. I've been back to visit twice and hope to do so again.

Sir, I'm here now and we've lived in the Bonnie Blink neighborhood on "Old Post" for the last two years. Definitely the most beautiful area to live on post in my opinion. We see deer, Javelina, and wild Turkeys nearly every single day, and the mountain views are great. The weather is awesome and the fact that the city of Sierra Vista off post has ZERO traffic is a huge plus in my book. I'm the S2 NCOIC of 304th MI BN and I work completely autonomously with zero micromanagement and all the time in the World to get the mission completed. I definitely feel valued and respected at my workplace. Will be sad to PCS when that time comes in about a year. I'm living the life here.
