What do you think of an officer that failed a urinalysis? Should they be held to a higher standard or given a chance for ASAP?

should officers be given a chance for redemption like most enlisted soldiers are? or should the army be harder on them than regular joes?

I know in my experience E4 and below were given the benefit of the doubt and were given a 2nd chance. E-5 and above and officers? Pack your bags and Start your transition. And me personally? I think that's the right approach. NCO's and Officers should be setting the example for all to follow. How can i expect Soldiers to follow my lead if i fail a Urinalysis? That's a disaster waiting to happen.

Depends what they pissed hot for. Weed? Who cares. Drive on and smoke two joints. Heroine? Probably keep you in for a little bit and get you the rehab you need, then kick you.

UCMJ does not have punishments for O, then WO and then Enlisted. Officers have get hit with motre charges sometimes, but UCMJ is not rank made. An O fails, in my units (never had one) just like an EM- BC would BN ART 15, and then chapter them out.

Yes. As a SFC I am held to a higher standard than an E1-E4. It should be that way. Think about it. We are asking soldiers to place their lives and their futures in the hands of their leaders, so shouldn't the leaders actually be worthy of that kind of trust?

I believe that anyone, regardless of rank should be separated. zero room in the Army for individuals as such. Urine analysis are not moving targets that you have to hit. Do the right thing, on and off duty.

I'm not a huge fan of UAs. I've seen good troops put out for taking expired medication.
