What do you think of this example of "making the on the spot correction?"

I read this article this morning and I applaud the young MP for doing the right thing. I also applaud the CSM for identifying the importance of making the "on the spot correction."

While it's absolutely true we have to uphold standards (and accept OTSCs no matter the source if they're right), I had to laugh reading this. The SM had just graduated from AIT... do you think he realized what he was doing - and would he still have taken the same action six months down the road?

Well done, it is imperative that we keep our senior leaders grounded.

There have been too many over the last 12-15 years that have been told how awesome they are so many times that they now believe their own press. When we get to this we get leaders that enforce the standards, but do not necessarily practice them.

-point out the mistake

-advise on the correct way to do

IE excuse me Sir, according to AR 670-1 the ACU uniform can only be worn with the ACU softcap. The Mickey Mouse Ears shouldn’t be worn with your uniform.
