I have, in the past, volunteered at: the Aids Walk, for Alzheimer's, etc.
Nowadays, I donate to worthy causes.

I have volunteered for many things throughout my life. My favorite was working with juvenile offenders incarcerated in jail. No, I don't need thanks or a pat on the back. I have already been repaid many times over, much more than any paid work I ever performed. And yes, I volunteered to serve in the Army which ranks up there with my other favorite things.

We deliver eggs from our chickens to the widows of veterans and a couple Older retired Vietnam vets locally. I also help with vacation bible study for the kids in the summer and have served as a merit badge counselor for construction trades for the Boy Scouts.

I have raised money for three kidney related organization walks in the last three years and I organized a walk for one organization this year to raise money. My daughter has a congenital kidney disorder so that's personal for me.

I wish I could volunteer more but it's hard for me to do stuff on the weekends when I won't have just anyone watch her due to her medical status. I did go to a local school they asked for military to welcome back students at the start of the school year this year. I was the only Army...rest AF (I'm at a joint unit). They thought we were all Army...

The most challenging has been mentoring/tutoring third and fourth graders. Something that is easy to do, is donating blood. I donate blood every two months.

I have been in the BSA program from Cub Scout all the way up to Eagle Scout. My troop would serve our community by making and selling ice cream during fairs. We also did litter pickup frequently.

Out of that community, I served on camp staff as a Merit Badge Counselor for Aquatic Merit Badges and taught younger scouts the skills they needed to get the badges.
