What, if anything, is the difference between Leadership and Management?

There has been a great deal of discussion on the best book people have read on Leadership. However, I have noticed that many of the books listed seem to be about management and management styles. Is there a difference between the two and if so, what, in your opinion is that difference?

Are Leaders successful Managers or are Managers successful Leaders? Or both?
Do you need both in order to be successful? Which specific positions in the
Military would Leaders be successful rather than Managers or vice versa?
