Many American units that couldn't find a home have been stuffed into this base following closures and realignment. The base is just barely 85 acres with two long runways. In recent times it has been referred to as the "dumping yard". There have been upgrades to the base too. I was a 45B small arms Repairman at the time. Being a Korean installation, they did not allow for a weapons facility on the base. I was reassigned to HHC, 227TH Maint Bn. At Yongsan army garrison in Seoul. Only spent 5 days at K-16 and the place was pretty barren then.
