I just have some questions. Such as what are the living quarters for the SR NCO's, BAH and the assignment. This is my first time in Korea. So any advice would help. The SR Enlisted quarters are almost like a hotel room. They have fridge, kitchenette, the bedroom and living room are combined. Or all of it is in the same room I should say. You shouldnt need any living items if you know what I mean. PX on carroll just expanded when I was on my way out so it is still ok, The best one you can get too by bus is at Camp Walker. Camp Carroll is a pretty good gig depending on where you get assigned. 511 had a platoon dedicated to all the misfits and international incidents. I hope you get a good assignment and get out. I cant stress that enough, go see places. All Seniors stay off post here so you will have to get a realitor and find a place. You can bring the essentials but you can draw all furniture from the Gov. They will supply you with everything.

When is your report month? As a senior NCO, you very well may end up off-post. Also as a senior NCO you will be allowed to have a car. You can typically get one from a soldier PCSing off-pen for a decent price. Around Yongsan (in the middle of Seoul), average cost was about $1500 for a decent hooptie. Remember, if you have a car, in all liklihood, you will only drive it from home to work as Korean traffic can be nasty and there aren't a whole lot of places to park. Flip side, Korea can boast some of the best public transportation in the world. CP Carroll is also a hop-skip from Daegu, which is IIRC the second largest city in Korea. Lots to do in and around there. Enjoy your tour. Korea can be great, but only if you make it so. LTC Paul Labrador Mon, 30 Jun 2014 15:49:00 -0400 2014-06-30T15:49:00-04:00 2014-06-28T19:04:00-04:00
