Carson, CO.  I have told my Soldiers "There are two kinds of Soldiers at Ft. Carson.  Those that are there for the first time and think there is something better and those that are there for a second time and know there is nothing better."  Ft. Carson IS the best assignment in the Army.  Although I have heard that Ft. Lewis (JBLM) is right up there. The mentoring and lessons I received there has made me successful to take command of a unit here soon. I had some knowledgeable officers and NCOs who provided great leadership during my 4 yrs at Ft Stewart. I was a PL in Iraq and also did a lot of work as the AS3 too. Next,I was given the opportunity to become the HHT XO (which normally goes to the most experienced XO)as my first time being placed in the position as the XO. After a very successful stint as XO, my command trusted me to become the next S4 for 18 months and performed my duties very well. The overall experience has professionally grown me into a better officer and leader. It wasn't merely the unit by itself, but as I mentioned the officers and NCOs who worked with me during my time in the Marne Division. They helped guide me and develop me to think, react, and lead Soldiers.
