What is the best mini-vacation you have taken?

ALright.....enough bad news already in the press!! SO here is today's assignment...should you choose to accept it......This Message will self-destruct.....HA HA....Anyway, what or where have you experienced something I like to call a Mini-Vacation!!! Come home from a deployment, come home from a LONG work week.... your significant other has surprised you, made reservations and is whisking you away for the next 3 days!!! WHERE WAS IT, and Let the rest of us know why it is a GREAT MEMORY!!! and GO!!

I will start off by saying it was to go to the Bahamas and it was my Birthday. What an Amazing Time!!!

My wife and I took a last-minute trip to Crested Butte, CO a number of years ago. The snow wasn't great for November that particular year, so they were running some last-minute specials and we just said "what the heck" and did it. The snow actually wasn't bad, as it ended up snowing most of the weekend, so it turned out to be a really great time.

Another was a weekend we took right before Christmas when our daughter was 11 months old...Granny offered to watch her when we were visiting in WA, so off we went to Leavenworth for a 3-day weekend, also a great time. For anyone that is stationed at JBLM, if you don't take a weekend and go to Leavenworth (WA) around Christmas, you're missing out!
