Stuff such as good quality winter socks for the Afghan winter, lip balm and sunscreen for the summer, a good quality coffee mug (Stanley) that did not destroy itself within a month, stuff like that. But it was peanut butter that came in a tube similar to go-gurt for kids. good toilet paper, deodorant, DVDs, hard candy (doesn&#39;t melt), earphones or headsets comfortable ones, one of my roommates bought us all slippers to wear in our CHU&#39;s to be comfortable in I suppose. I concur with socks, a good thermos, hot chocolate with the little marshmallows. I know my friends that drank coffee were fond of various coffees from Dunkin Donuts or their favorite coffee house. Hope this helps. A good coffee pot too! Seriously I know we had quite a few joes that bought them or ordered them. Good soups or food in microwave form. My husband on his last deployment depended on those packages because they ate MRE&#39;s for a good while. Can goods and such I can stash for the rainy season when going to eat is rough. any type of literature especially if it was like a series i can read one after another.I didn&#39;t smoke but I had my family send cartons of cigarettes so I can give out to the Soldiers that did smoke. The cigarettes that were available were stale and gross. My Scout Platoon was on the DMZ at GPs 115 &amp; 116. <br />I got a huge fruit cake cake in the mail from my grandma. She sent a hammer, chisel and metal file inside it. The note on top said &quot;I hope this helps you OUT of Korea.&quot; <br />Grandma had a great sense of humor.
