The individual has that "inner attitude" that there isn't anything they can't accomplish. I think great soldiers are found, not recruited. They have that "eagle" like instinct and the military releases it to nurture and grow. The military is no place for "ducks" people that sit around and say this is the way we've always done it and they can't grasp change or anyone moving their "cheese". The great soldiers are saying: "hell I already moved that cheese!"

Of course all of the Army Values:
Loyalty
Duty
Respect
Selfless Service
Honor
Integrity
Personal Courage Response by COL Mikel J. If you don't truly believe in what you are doing as a service member, and have doubts you should remove yourself from the situation. You have to lead from the front everywhere. You must also live your Creed. Doesn't matter if you are a Marine, Soldier, Airman, or Seaman, you have to live by your convictions that you hold. You must be a master of your craft and SME. They take the time to learn their skill and be the best they can be at in that field. He isn't worried all the time about when liberty is granted and is on time. When wearing the uniform it is properly worn. Greeting all your comrades higher and lower ranks with respect and treating them with the same. A good soldier teaches and helps both the upper ranks and lower ranks. If you are the upper part in the ranks and a lower ranking person has an idea you listen. Most of all you look after the best interest of you and your peers and your unit and service. Hell you even help other departments if you are able to from time to time. Wanting and desiring to be something much more than yourself. The whole entire reason for giving and being part of a much greater thing that no one else can give you in the civilian world. Being Motivated to be the best that you can be no matter what the obsticles that you may face.
