My military HERO was actually my Uncle, his name was retired COL Thomas A. (Tinker) Austin and he was the epitome of what I call a man and Soldier, but seeing how the majority live in fantasy and maybe some of these characters caused a curiosity to possibly join the service, I have to go with what was my STAPLE while growing up. Marvel comics and SGT Fury! SGT Fury was conceived and hit the book stores the year i was born, nonetheless I found him for 20 cents and only really read Spiderman and Fury. Of Course GI Joe came out and never really stood a chance, but I have to say SGT Fury.
