Moved to Asia as a contractor, and did the “retirement” thing where I grew a beard and grew a beer belly. Then I joined the Dragon Boat team here. And now I’ve finally completed my first Spartan Race. Unfortunately, I don’t feel as motivated to workout all the time. So, vets and retirees, what motivates you to push yourselves physically? What motivates your workout? 2019-01-31T09:30:23-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 4331085

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. Seriously, I am so afraid of becoming like them because I know how easy it is to sit on the sofa and mindlessly eat chips or ice cream. I have a lot of weight to lose, but I'm working with my doctor (thyroid issues) and a personal trainer to help me reach my goals. Being around others that are on the same quest as me helps enormously.
2) Seeing progress
Even a little means a lot as long as its getting steadily better. Sometimes all it takes is seeing an extra vein or two that I didn't notice the day before.
