What regulation covers BAS?

I am getting a new house and they want to know what regulations covers BAS and more specifically what part says I get to keep it when I leave Korea and PCS back to Fort Carson and get all the money back since I won’t be eating at the DFAC. I think I found the regulation in DOD 7000.14-R but couldn’t find any specifics.

Look when in places unaccompanied like Korea, you get a meal card and no BAS. When you get to Conus and are married you get BAS and no meal card, cause all meals are your responsibility unless you are in the field and the service is feeding you, then you lose BAS for those days.

What exactly do you want to know? Who is asking? Why do they want to know? BAS is a DOD program. DODD 1418.05 & DOD 7000.14 Volume 7A will be your go to. While AR 600-38 will be your regulation for the Army's meal card program.

Pretty sure as a SSG you'll be getting OHA (BAH for over seas) or live in BEQ and get BAS.

As a SSG in the Army you will always receive BAS. AR 37-104-4

If you do not sign the cash collection sheet and do not give money to head counter, you will still have your money.

A lot depends on your company mess sergeant, I've seen some that charge you the price of a meal for a cup of coffee and others that give free coffee.
