What’s the number for fort hood branch for requesting orders?

So I’m due to attend AIT in May and I graduate in September and my wife and I just found out she’s pregnant and due date is in October I was trying to find out if I can call a request that my report date for my next duty station after AIT be after that due date is that possible or what I do not know where I’ll be going after I complete AIT yet I am a reclassing soldier and I’ve been here at hood for 3 years

The request is processed through your career counselor. If you call reassignment they'll just send you on a wild goose chase and eventually refer you to retention.

Since your wife’s due date is in November and you graduate in September, wouldn’t it be better to leave for your next duty station after your graduation? I asked because if you’re in AIT, they are not going to allow you to be a hold over at a location your dependents are not authorized at.

Purely as a thought I try to offer on here a good deal, honestly, go and ask the chaplains or their staff where you are, and see if they might possibly be able to intercede at all...chaplains tend to do a good deal of social-work type stuff...then, too, if there's a clinical facility where you are with social workers, go and see them, trust me, while I'd been in doctoral allied-health residency before my total perm disability, I spent a good deal of time involved with social workers for patients, occasionally chaplains also, though we shut my license off sevl yrs ago, I assure you, what you've got is pretty much grist for their mill, honest...if you'd care to chat at all, or have any luck, I'd be most eager to hear your thoughts...social workers and chaplains are really good at dealing with stuff like this, you might also ask about their helping you with Red Cross stuff too, should that be needed, if you'd be away for the delivery at all, as well...just food for thought as well, obviously, OK? Hope all that is of at least some possible use, of course....

SPC Newman, when you get a sponsor nearing the end of AIT contact them and let them know your graduation date and your wife’s due date, to include all pertinent info dealing with your situation. Have your sponsor inform your soon to be Chain of Command and get emails and phone numbers. You may not have enough leave days from the time of graduation to the birth during that time. So my suggestion would be to take maybe a week of leave to see your family, report to your unit which you by then should be in contact with and know your situation. When nearing the due date request ordinary leave and when you wife is having the baby request paternity leave. To get ahead of this is to have good communitication with your sponsor and future Chain of Command.
