I’m currently in AIT, and I was curious as to what I should be doing to keep up/confirm that my GI Bill will be available for when I want to go to school?

Serve three years of service and be honorably discharged. That's all you have to do, and it's all you can do.

Definitely check with the education center. Also ask them about CLEP. Those are tests that you can take to get college credit. When you get to your duty station, check out college courses that you can take on line in your free time. One of my nephews did that when he was in the Marines.

Don't use GI Bill while on active duty status. If you choose to take part-time college classes while in uniform full-time, use tuition assistance (TA) instead. Education center at your duty station should have details.
