I have favorites for certain kinds of workouts, but nothing quite shocks the senses as mixing it up and playing hockey at 0615 in the morning then playing again at 2200 at night. Now that I am older, I have found the opposite to be true. I prefer to workout after work. It amps me up, but then tires me out. I used to be an MP, so I had PT at different times of the day for shift work. Everything around the sleep cycle and algorithm say to my body, the early morning. I was doing P90X in the evenings, but all those showers each day were counter productive to the skin when you are as old as I am. CW5 Sam R. That still leaves plenty of time to cool down, get ready for the next day, etc. PT before my 0700 daily work call would be asking too much of this old soldier. However a good healthy diet has helped me get back into shape as much as I can be. Now when I was able to work out mornings were best even though I hated waking up early, helped get me motivated for the day. I feel better going to sleep exhausted. I was told by some personal trainer somewhere that if you exercise right before bed, your body continues to burn calories while you sleep. I do not want to be tired for the rest of the day working out in the morning. There are less people working out at night. I can vent the days frustrations in a workout at night. On Swing shift-if I live near the gym then before work, if I live far from the gym, after work. (1730-1900 ish) <br /><br />On weekends, I'll workout first thing in the morning.
