Currently, I'm not active in any organizations since my husband is still AD and we are overseas. However, I plan to to get involved with as many as I can once we return to the States, whenever that may be. I joined the National Guard after 7 years in the Army. Originally because a local commander invited me to stop by for a cup of coffee. Since then (16 years ago) I changed posts and have been Post Commander the past 5 years. I have learned about all the great programs sponsored by the American Legion and about the lobbyists in Washington. No other organization does as much from what I&#39;ve seen.... I belong to American Cold War Veterans and used to belong to AMVETS. I joined to associate with other veterans and help other veterans who are in need.
