Vicenza Italy in spite of the General Dozier incident. Italy affords you the travel, food and the people were friendly to the military. If you learned a bit of Italian then it became even better.

Okinawa - the whole island was incredible. Friendly people, incredible food, centuries of culture, and great island weather. Since you are an MP you are eligible to go to Torii Station on Okinawa.

In the 1980s, Anchorage Alaska. Military friendly. Great schools for kids. Outstanding recreation year around. Just enough shopping to make it civilized, but still 30 minute drive from true wilderness. Weather about like “Northern Tier” states in lower 48, but somewhat milder than Minot. Friendly people. Drivers who actually know how to handle snow and ice.

Let’s see now ,Seattle Wa. (Ft.Lewis 1965) place was deader than fried chicken back then,nope continuing on, Tuy Hoa RVN 1966,nope,Plelkiu Central Highlands RVN 1967,nope,last but not least Leesville La,1968 really ! No joy here Brother,maybe if I had only listened to my older Air Force Master Sergeant brother I would have visited nicer places.
