If your command has already chosen to separate you, they will more than likely continue to do so. You can request an Open Door Policy meeting with your Commander and see if you can persuade them to not discharge you. This should not prevent you from enlistment in the Reserves or National Guard. Is this your first failure? As long as you make progress during that period and make weight by the end, nothing happens. If you have meet the weight goal, but backslide to over the weight limit with the first 12 months, they are required by regulation for start processing you for discharge. It you make weight before your discharge and want to stay in the service, it doesn&#39;t hurt to hit your Command up for an exception to policy. Commanders are given a lot of leeway and if you are a good troop and they think you are worth the effort, it can happen. NO promises, but the worst that can happen is that you are told no. If you made the 6 month weight and held it over 12 months, you only get 90 days to make weight again. That resets after 36 months of you meeting the Standard. <br />Is there a specific question you have about it?
