SGM Private RallyPoint Member, I'd get serious about addressing the undocumented immigrant problem in our country and sealing the borders. I'd sit down with Congressional leaders and work out a deal on immigration and border security. Then I'd see to it that we - as a country - got this particular job done.

A very good question. Upon reading it, my mind started swirling with all kinds of things. Most of them would be considered unconstitutional if I were to actually make them happen with an executive order, and unfortunately with only one day all I could do is make an executive order to actually see resolution on many things.

So I would do what I've seen done lately. I would take the time to present my case to America as her president for two main objectives.

1. I would ask for an amendment to the Constitution that states that each bill passed by congress is to have ONE item on it and not be clogged with pork or other garbage, and that it be appropriately named. My reason for this would be watching campaign ads that say something like this. "Senator Snodgrass voted against the puppy safety bill so he must hate puppies!" They don't mention that the bill had other attachments that had nothing to do with the original bill just to get it passed, and maybe one of those had to do with something that could harm the country. All they say is that because he voted against a bill they called "the puppy safety bill" he must hate puppies. My apologies to anyone actually named "Snodgrass." That was the name my dad used for random people when I was growing up, so it seemed to fit.
2. I would ask for a referendum on the ballot which would eliminate the posh retirement plan that federally elected officials receive completely if passed. It would level the playing field, and I can guarantee they'd stop dipping into social security if they had to depend on it.

Build a giant ass wall between us and mexico, and implement tougher immigration laws. I don't care whom I anger in the immigrant community, I'm more worried about the well being of my citizens.

Oh, and implement a mandatory quarantine and flight restrictions for people going to west Africa.

Let's see:
1) Initiate border security operations to curb/cease "undocumented" transgressors from entering our country as well as begin immediate deportation of those "undocumented" transgressors in country. Go home and try it again through legal means.
2) Cease the downsizing of our armed forces in the face of the growing threats from the Middle East and a certain country that wants to "prove it's self on the world stage again".
3) Approve the building of the Keystone Pipeline to create jobs and allow for the production of cheaper oil and gas to assist in curbing our dependence on oil from the unstable regions of the world.
Then sleep soundly after a good days work!

I would get together with my Secretary of Defense, Secretary's of all Branches of Service, Joint Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff for all Branches of Service. We wold first discuss the needs of our Armed Forces. Then we would come up with a stretegic plan as to how to defeat groups like ISIS ordering an immediate stop to the downsizing of our military force's.

I would have the Defense Budget reviewed and call for increasing personnel benefits that we have promised the men and women of our Armed Forces in accordance with our very own Constitution.

I would next do what ever it took to get the ball rolling on repealing Obama Care. I would order our boarders sealed and contain those who threaten the rest of our citizens with the Ebola virus until they were no longer a threat. Just as well I would not risk our military forces to help those with Ebola as every American life is more valuable to me than anything else in the world. It would be time to pool our resources and take care of what is in our own backyard as opposed to being the world's welfare fund.

We have our own problems of those without jobs. People whow are homeless with children not having a warm meal for days. Yet we give billions of dollars in to country's that hate us and even pose threats towards are allies and us.

I know I am dreaming and we all would love to fix our Country's problems. But, it is going to take more then a day. The most important thing here is that we are all a voice lettin our voteam count.

1. I'd secure our borders and clamp down on the illegal immigrants trying to sneak in. In other words, they are undocumented and entered our country illegally, they would be immediately deported.

2. I'd fire all of the upper echelon of the VA administration and order that all of the outstanding claims be processed within 90 days.

3. I'd freeze congressional pay raises until a balance budget was passed by the house and senate.

4. I'd stop giving aid to other countries for disaster until we eliminated homelessness in CONUS.

SGM Private RallyPoint Member SGM, I would present legislation which shortened term length to a total of four years whether House or Senate with a one term maximum for life, regardless of legislative position. I would extend the same term limit to the Presidency.

I would suggest meaningful reform to immigration through enforcing the current laws and passing new ones which pass the common sense test.

I would ask that the military force structure be raised back to a reasonable level, listen to the Commandants, Chiefs of Staff, and Chief of Naval Operations as far as OPTEMPO, deployments, and what is needed to combat ISIS / ISIL / IS. I would provide meaningful pay raises through a BUDGET which provided funds for Agencies who need it and defund special interests.

I would reach across the aisle in Congress to garner support from all persons and be the ear and voice of reason.

At the end of my 23:59 hour day, I would sit back and smoke a cigar in the Oval Office and then leave as mysteriously as I arrived.

"Commander-in-Chief" is an archaic notion we've squeezed for centuries from the Old Testament: walk in the commandments & testimonies of one guy & everything'll be hunky-dory. However much we've wasted our nation's history groveling B4 CinCs, Prezes, CoS, & CEOs, it's apparent the time has come to sack the solo operators, who are simply committee chairs anyway, & admit we need decisions by committee; stop pretending one guy's in charge. Of course, the media will resist, cuz for them it's just easier to imagine one guy "in charge." (Hence, all those well-circulated photos over the years of pensive-looking Prezes.)

As long as we still have the solo CinC, tho, give serious consideration to sacking the DoD: force the NRA to buy the armed forces (& watch what S-F-B LaPierre does when stuck w/ real weaponry) & turn the Pentagon bldg. over to the contractors, which we've pretty much already done. The "defending freedom" line still makes good copy (media demand, again), but the freedom of the US of A hasn't been in danger since 1945, no matter much the pseudo-right whimpers & whines.

Sorry: when PowerPoint poseur Petraeus became the face of the war on terrorism, then it was time to dissolve the armed forces. You'll need more'n a CinC for that.

I would probably be assassinated.
First I would shut down as many un-needed government agencies as I could find, there is no reason we have 17 separate agencies in this country that work on intelligence, and yet still screw it up.
Secondly, lock minimum wage at $8.00 no matter what. Minimum experience, minimum education equals minimum pay.
Third is activate the National Guard along border states to lock the border down, period. Fourth, advise Mexico and Canada that if they wish to sell their goods in the US they will take an active role in border security of risk being locked out.
Fifth, completely halt all trade with communist countries.
The list could go on forever.

I would raise military salary to increase more than 1% every year. I would also take away the high pension that congress gets for the rest of their lives. I believe that when you step down from office, you should lose a high percentage of what you were making.

1. Make it easier for veterans and service members of all branches to access vital records. Implement a national database like emilpo for all VA branch hospitals (if there isn't already one)

2. Lower or abolish taxes for all service members. Active or inactive. (Unless they have discharges of OTH, BCD, or dishonorable).

3. Make it mandatory that every american citizen enlist in the armed services for at least 2 years active or 4 years inactive (unless they are certifiably unqualified)

4. Put every single police officer who shot an killed an unarmed person in prison.

5. Make same sex marriage legal.

6. Only hire prior service military veterans or servicemembers for my police and law enforcement. No civilians.

7. Reprimand the Federal Reserve and the rothchild dynasty for war crimes. And treason. (Providing fuel to German Nazi bombers during WWII).

8. Raise minimum wage to $10 per hour.

9. Raise educational standards and build more schools.

Well I would actually insure I had a prioritized list of major issues. I'd bring in the VP, Speaker of the House, Minority and Majority of each and lay out where I see each item. Give the VP and staff 10 days to formulate a plan from each party. Put the 4 (Minority/Majority) together with an agenda. Give them 10 days to iron out differences. If there issues that can't be resolved I will make the decision for them. Stop the win at any cost party S$&t. We can all sit in our office and tell the press what your doing like what is happening now. As I have always done, put the parties (leaders) together and make them talk to each other and learn to give and take. Lastly, anyone running for government office will not accept any money anyone or anywhere. Each candidate will be given 5mil from the government to be used for the candidate to run a campaign if they meet all requirements to run. Use it wisely and no negative campaignes. Compromise and a handshake is leadership.

Now, as to what I would do:

1) Fix the compensation problems with the military and with first responders all around the country. Budget fixes have been put on our backs for far too long.

2) Require mandatory national service. Not just military, but any of the Service Corps. And put all members under a program like the UCMJ, which gives you second chances for small infractions - if you have a civilian prosecution it stays with you. NJP doesn't. Then give everyone a GI Bill like program to get an education, a trade skill or whatever.

3) Have a massive ($3 Trillion) infrastructure program. Our roads, bridges, water mains, etc are crumbling. Every job created by this program would spur 2 - 4 additional jobs in service, manufacturing etc. And require only US made/US Company equipment, materiel and workers for these programs.

4) Bring back the WPA/TVA/etc. in relationship with #3. This would require every physically able person to work - no free money unless you are legitimately disabled.

I know all of this would cost huge amounts of money and would never happen in our lifetimes, but these would fix huge numbers of our societal ills, and bring back the success of the '50s and 60's without the "Military Industrial Complex" that Ike was concerned about being the primary source of productivity.

I suspect that with these programs, huge tax windfalls would be seen in less than a decade, as the investments paid off...

One day. That is all you get. Everybody is talking about things they could never accomplish in ONE day.

What I would do is try to solidify a real run for President by putting out executive orders that would crush the fat cats in Congress. I would suspend retirement, healthcare, I would limit the amount of vacations everybody could take, I would suspend payment to any member of congress if he missed a vote, I would order all lobbyist to be audited and make a task force that did nothing but investigate them.

Now all this would be repealed the next day. Then I would make my move. I would announce my run for Presidency with the promise all the token things I just did will become permanent once elected.
