CPL Private RallyPoint Member 4846086

So my husband and I are dual military and we got married after my orders were placed meaning we didn’t have a residence together, so I went to Korea and he went to Fort Hood but now I’m 3 months out from my DEROS and I need to start getting a house together so I can ship my stuff from California. I went to S1 and filled out a complete packet and they said I can’t get BAH and he has to do it but when I went on leave they said they needed my orders, but I submitted my levy packet a month ago and still have no orders. I can’t afford for him to move out of the barracks right now because we don’t have the money that’s why we need the BAH. And I’ve been trying to look at the regulations but I can’t find the right one. Can any one please help? When can I start receiving BAH to make my PCS move easier? 2019-07-25T07:28:05-04:00 CPL Private RallyPoint Member 4846086

So my husband and I are dual military and we got married after my orders were placed meaning we didn’t have a residence together, so I went to Korea and he went to Fort Hood but now I’m 3 months out from my DEROS and I need to start getting a house together so I can ship my stuff from California. I attended the 7th army NCO academy in 1968 and was number two. one day and they sent me back to bliss. Need to poke someone at the S1 (both you and your spouse) at both ends. Since it will take sometime for BAH to kick in...
2. You might consider an AER loan if he needs -as of been told- to move out of the barracks right away. You can't receive BAH OCONUS because that's covered under OHA.
There's no emergency here. You don't need to move your stuff ahead of time and you don't need to maintain two residences. Once you PCS, you and your husband can get a place on post, there's no extra security deposit to save up for. Army housing is designed for people who have zero extra money to walk straight into a home within a day or two. After some time, the two of you can buy a house if you choose and move out. He needs to do it on his end since that where you should be going to. If his unit needs your orders than get with your S1 and see where they are on getting you your orders. They will not approve it. You will have to wait until you are back in the states.

Second: Did y'all submit all the necessary paperwork for a DEERS update?

Third: Do you have orders to a unit CONUS?
