When does the new milper message usually drop?

I am attempting to reclass and have researched every MOS i qualify for and that Im interested in. The retention NCO has told me there are 0 class seats for over 12 MOS's including 15,25,12,17, 68, and 88 series despite the in/out calls. My ETS is March and i do not wish to get out but my current MOS, 91E, is a dead-end, overstrengthed, under utilized, and rarely promoted.

MILPER Messages are published in a daily basis, you can say. The question I ask is: what MILPER Message are you looking in particular, or subject?

The best you can do is know around what month your MILPER topic was published in the past. Then, on a daily basis search on key words of the expected message. There could be a 3 month variance in time depending on the topic of interest.

Given the nature of your topic, I would suggest searching on each individual MOS in the MILPER history and see what is the latest and greatest for those positions. You never know what you are going to find sifting through MILPERs.

There are other opportunities. ARSOF for instance, but there is also an Allied Trade Warrant Officer, while not possessing some of the qualifications, you can apply for a waiver.

The In/Out calls have nothing to do with class seats. Class seats change on a daily basis. You have to be fully eligible to reenlist, for instance DLC complete once you reach a certain rank.

I advise that you do a 12 month extension and then work on getting a class seat. You extend today and you're right back in your reenlistment window next week. 91E is a dead end MOS after E5

I would ask if you can put in for a 4187 request to extend your contract until they have a class seat available. That might help out if you are willing to stay in your MOS longer.

Other options are:
1. ETS, go IRR and find an Army Reserve Career Counselor that will help you find a unit with the MOS you want that has a “will-train” position, meaning they will send you to school. As a reservist, you can do active duty tours and potentially go back into active duty.
2. At ETS or prior to, find an Army Reserve Career Counselor that will help you do #1 without going IRR. Many Active duty posts have a Reserve Career Counselor that you have to see as part of ETS outprocessing.
