Personally I think they both suck as candidates for our next president but nobody else that has a prayer of a chance of winning is running so as I say, "It's voting for the lesser of two evils." I am guilty of it, but since they started with saying that President Biden followers are a cult and don't have any common sense, I retaliate it with the President Biden fan club and the cult of mediocrity and failure.

Just because I picked devo as my band doesn't mean I have devolved. But we know that the left likes using Joseph Goebbels Analogies when referring to Republicans. I'm not saying that other republicans on here. Haven't said stuff. Equal it's not worse than democrats on the left. I believe a diversity of thought and being able to disagree.

I can say NO without feeling guilty and saying stuff like 'how did you ever become an officer?' ,'How did you ever get your commission?' Being called a traitor, Racist and other Left this terms I just laughed at it.

I have noticed that when they can't win the argument that they attack you personally. If I can't win the argument with them.I just say we can't agree.

The left talks about diversity, equity and inclusion.But they go bonkers when someone doesn't agree with their narrow world vision.

I have voted democrat, Independent and Republican. The democratic party that I voted for in the nineties believed in closed borders and in balancing the budget. The democratic party I voted for believed in lowering taxes not raising them.

People on both sides have to realize that you don't have to be right.

I also want Remind my Democrat buddies. That democrats have been called election deniers for quite a few elections, including the election of 2000 and 2016. I just want to point this out because your Biden fan club media Sometimes won't tell you that.

I guess that you really don't get it, at least not from my point of view. I don't hate any politician. They are what they are. I don't hate the people who vote for them, even when they vote for ones that I don't support. When I criticize President Trump, I focus on his lack of political acumen (in other words, I wish he had better political advisors and would listen to them). On the other hand, I understand that it is difficult to keep your mouth shut when you are constantly attacked. When I criticize Biden, I focus on his lack of competency, his dementia, and his obvious corruption (not just recently, but spanning his entire political career). These are valid conversations to have inasmuch as such persons seek our support to become our next leaders, wouldn't you agree?

RP serves a useful purpose as a place for those who have served to come and build upon shared military experiences (past and present) and help each other, as members of a network and as members of a community. Political opinions and partisan political impulses on the other hand have a remarkable ability to divide communities, even RP. Honestly it's like a political Mad Libs - the partisans on the left shout and scream about Trump and the partisans on the right do the same regarding Biden. You could take something and just fill in the blanks and get about as much out of it as 90% of the posts that go in the Political Opinions topic.

Quoting from myself ☺ - this is part of the standard message I've been sending (the first time) to those that are posting the divisive partisan rhetoric to other than the "Political Opinions" topic:

"... keep the cage fighting between the different political ideologies from infecting the rest of the platform ..."
"...posts from the ideologues that want to put out the equivalent of "your politics suck more than my politics"..."

Regarding the divisive rhetoric:
● Some post a lot because I guess they are on some holy crusade against the perceived Antichrist.
● Some post because their version of enjoyment is telling someone how much they suck (it's one thing saying how much the candidate sucks, but invariably it moves on to "and if you support him, you suck too!").
● Some post because their political ideology is so interwoven with their sense of self that anything that goes against that political ideology is viewed as an attack on them.
● Some probably even post because, like the Hatfield and McCoys, it's just what they've been doing for so long it's incomprehensible that it should be any other way.

However, you probably have some (a very small percentage) who probably post because they honestly feel they are trying to educate people about what's going on in the government.

All we (as the admins) can do is make sure the cage fighting sticks to the appropriate area and that RallyPoint will implement the changes soon that allows people to 'opt-out' of the ideologues beating each other over the head.

Unfortunately, the post won't stop for at least the next 4 years +. Even then, there'll still be the occasional post about how bad Trump was, or how much Trump traumatized them while he was a politician... What we see now is probably an unfortunate reality for years to come. Because after the Trump/Biden post has gone away or at least subsided, the next; Hitler, NAZI, Antichrist, or Detriment/ existential threat to our Democracy, will emerge. Then we'll be flooded with how evil that politician is. When it looked like DeSantis would be the next Republican Candidate, we saw the Karen mentality flood the News, Internet, Social Media, and Talk Shows... on how evil he was, and he was being accused of being like Hitler... It's a sad sign of our times and mentality. Unfortunately, silly political comments like these dilute the evil of Hitler and the atrocities He committed. In time this mentality will subside because people will tire of it. But, unfortunately, this is the reality we face for the next four to eight years if not more.

My guess? In 4 1/2 years when they're both no longer relevant. The downside is what comes after them? Will we see even more polarizing politicians? Or will someone, party irrelevant, put their ego aside, drop the drama for drama sake, and focus more on the country's needs. It won't stop until neither one of them is involved in politics again. But there will still be others who will always bring them up. For example, "things were better/worse when xxx was president!" In the last few years, some people have mentioned President Reagan again. Depending on the context and the party affiliation of the commenter, the comment will have a good or bad bend to it.
I recommend that you stay off social media if it bothers you as much as your comment suggests it does. There will always be people who make comments to stir the pot, and there are others who honestly believe that their posts or comments will educate the masses and make the world a better place. If you are going to allow certain rantings to boil your blood, you should really take a break or skip the opinion pages and the comments after the articles. There is no reason you should allow people who have no relationship with you to dictate your emotions for any amount of time, let alone an entire day or more.
I hope that you take some of what I have said to heart. I, for one, am on your side at MSG Livingston and I wish you well in your attempt to move through the months, and maybe even years, ahead.
