When you see a soldier wearing a messed up beret what do you do? Does it bother you?

On the spot correction. What bothers me is when I see a jacked up beret (or the wearing there of) when in a formation and no one has already corrected them.

On the spot corrections are authorized for anyone to do. Even lower to higher when done with tact & respect. Don't leave your buddy in the wind help them out .

Well we obviously dont have berets in the Navy, but, if someone looks like a soup sandwich, we all have a duty to make sure that we are all squared away. We are all a reflection of each other.

That is true and I agree with you that we need to square each other away. How would you go about it tactfully?

Obviously the rank of each comes into play. I would not make a spectacle, go over and ask him/her if you could talk to them "over here" (ie out of view of anyone else). If that is an option, say something like "I have a hell of a time with my beret also, can I show you what I do with mine". Sometimes you may just have to say "dude your shit is AFU, let me help you get squared away.
