Where can I find a room to rent at Fort Benning?

I am PCS'ing to Fort Benning and will be there on March 7th or 8th. More info in comment. Does anyone have a room to rent?

My family will not be with me until June so the kids can finish the school year. I need a room or place to lay my head, cheap since i am still paying housing here at current location. Three months is all I need, March to May.

Army bases used to have enlisted and officer quarters (BOQ) for single personnel, and short term stays (schools, unaccompanied tours, etc.). I suppose those are long gone.

Abrams Hall located on main post. For soldiers on TDY and/or in transition. I wouldn't trust Craig's List, but that's just me. I'm not sure of the rates, but being on post it should be affordable.

Rooms for rent in the Fort Benning area is tough. If you're looking for short term rental then the hotel on base is a good choice, the ones off post are ridiculously expensive. When I left Fort Benning NCOs without families were housed in the barracks, not sure if this policy has changed. When I read your inquiry I tried to make contact with one of my old colleagues in the area but she moved so I have no updated information to offer you. However, I know most people renting houses are pro-military and you may want to check the newspapers of Columbus for listings. Near Columbus University they are rooms for rent but most cater to the college community instead of the military. I hope this help you and enjoy your tour at FB.
