I would have him contact the San Juan Regional Office. They have contacts for the American Legion, DAV, PVA, and the Vietnam Veterans of America. Any one of those organizations should, hopefully, have someone qualified as a Veteran Services Officer (VSO). Those VSOs are trained and accredited through the VA to assist vets with claims. Additionally, as you're in FL, I would advise you also reach out to your local VSO which for you should be the Broward Co office @ [login to see] . VSOs are a wealth of knowledge, strong advocates for all things vet related and should be able to help you assist your father out.

As a relatively recent retiree, I wish they had VSO brief folks during TAP. The few minutes I got didn't touch even a little bit of what the VSOs can assist with. My county VSO office is aweson.

Couple links to help.

https://www.benefits.va.gov/ROSANJUAN/veterans-services-orgs.asp
https://floridavets.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/CVSO-Directory-May-14-2020.pdf

Hope this helps and good luck.

V/R
Bogie

VA.gov | Veterans Affairs

Apply for and manage the VA benefits and services you’ve earned as a Veteran, Servicemember, or family member—like health care, disability, education, and more.

Response by MSgt Don VandeBogert made Jun 12 at 2020 9:36 PM 2020-06-12T21:36:50-04:00 2020-06-12T21:36:50-04:00 SA Private RallyPoint Member 6000444

Hill & Ponton VA Disability Attorney's in Florida. Contact your local legion hall or the like. You should also have access to the DAV. They help Vets every day with the VA.
