Which college would be more rewarding for transfer of military education and experience.

Central Texas College is good.  So is American Military University.  Both based off of personal experience.

American Military University is very military friendly and will work with you when your military duty conflicts with an assignment. I am also having a good experience with Walden University, their VA office processes all the paperwork.

I go to Penn State. I am out of state so my GI bill doesn't cover me fully, but the school pays the remainder of my tuition. (Yellow Ribbon Program). I pay $0.00 pocket costs, and get around 1100 for BAH. I have lots of veterans in my classes here. The majority are Marine Corpse veterans. There are other awesome programs for veterans here also. (Veterans get priority registration). There is also a VA clinic right here.

As for credits, if you pick the right degree program then you will get more credits. I.E. a former medic going into nursing will get more military credit then a former medic studying petroleum engineering etc... if you have any questions on using GI Bill or Penn state message me.

I also have utilized both CTC and AMU, got my AA from CTC, my BA from AMU, and currently working on my MA from AMU as well, both schools are very military friendly and lenient on giving credit for military and life experiences. I never paid a dime to either school, I have either used TA or VA benefits for all three degrees.

SFC Thomas, I taught at AMU from 2008-2012 and was recently hired to teach in the National Security Studies program beginning this year.  SSG Shaw brings up a great question for you on considering what it is that you want to do?  If you are assigned somewhere and can go to a brick and mortar institution such as University of Central Texas, if even to complete an Associates degree, then you should consider that option.  If you believe you will be PCSing or conducting numerous training exercise in the next few years, you may want to consider AMU for its flexibility.  The faculty at AMU are military friendly and are used to dealing with military personnel and civilians serving in national security positions.  As SSG Shaw states, UMUC is also military friendly and prominent in certain areas of the military.  SSG Dave going to Penn State full-time gives you some excellent advice if you are getting out of active duty.  Best wishes and feel free to ask questions or let us know more details about your situation and folks will chime in with great advice and perspectives.  Take care, COL Vince Lindenmeyer

For me, Ashford University. I was able to transfer 50 semester hours of military education alone towards my bachelor of arts degree. On top of that 50, they also accepted 30 more from my past colleges.

Excelsior College. You can transfer up to 96% of all credits needed for a BA/BS. A student needs to complete only 12 hours to establish residency with the school. They are very accepting of ACE from the National and Military Guides; so, they are more rewarding for transfer of military education than most schools.

EXCELSIOR COLLEGE by far--some 60K military grads...the most military friendly, accredited school and rated highly (see also Military.com and Military Times). For me it is Grantham. They have been very accommodating towards my degree and the people are very helpful as well. Good luck with your search you have plenty of options go with the one that will give you personally the best bang for the buck so to speak.
