Mannheim, Germany, 1999-2003. Part of it was the work (can't really talk about that), but Mannheim is a hidden gem of a city in Germany in my humble opinion. I speak German, and I made some great German friends while stationed there. Wonderful time!!

I had two assignments that are equal in enjoyment factor. I spent 3 years in the 172nd Infantry Bde(L)/6th Infantry Div(L), I served in the 172nd Support Bn and went on to 706th Maint Bn then HHC 6th ID and worked in G2. I transferred to Joint Communication Support Element (JCSE) at MacDill AFB and really got immersed in all aspects of communications.

OIF 1-2 Iraq aug 03-sep-04, was the best time I had in my 7 years in the military. I drove a hemtt in convoys every other day. It was never a boring job trying to stay alive and aviod danger and get other out of harms way when they got hit from small arms or RPG. Recovery was a tough job because you never knew what you were going to be looking at when you got to the mess.

D/1/11th ACR, '91-'93, Fulda, Germany due to the training and unit Esprit de Corps.....OIF, Mar-Aug '03, A-3/69 AR, as a Tank PSG, conducted the combat operations that I had been training for over the past 15+ years, never so proud as a leader as I was of that platoon during those 6 months.

My favorite was FOB Falcon in Baghdad b/c I felt my talents were being put to the best use and a a special sence of pride knowing that I ewas serving my country in a combat zone I accually requested to stay but I was denied no biggie but I felt like I was doing good there

My best military assignment was, believe it or not, Baghdad, Iraq 2007 - 2008. The best group of Soldiers with the most mission accomplishment. 2nd Best Fort Belvoir, VA 2003 Assigned to USACIDC Command. Worst assignment Joint Base McGuire - Dix - Lakehurst 2012.

Squad Leader, Warrior Transition Battalion, Ft Campbell, KY June 2007 - November 2009. I loved helping Soldiers and their families get the care and treatment they deserved.

The 'Thank You's' from the transitioning Soldiers were better than any award I've ever received.

My time on an Accompanied PCS to Okinawa was the best time for me with my Family, but the Unit was by far the worst I had been in. My favorite Army Assignment was the 27th Engr BN at Ft Bragg. I guess because I was a youngster (17) and it is the place I grew up. My Marine assignment in HMT-303 and HMLA-367 on Camp Pendleton was 2 of the best Units for me. A side note; There was 3 Cobra Pilots (Captains) in 367 during Desert Storm that are now in the General Ranks and all 3 of them guys are very personable impressive people!
