I'm completely against using the military against the civilian population other than in a defensive posture. I support anyone that protects the innocent. So for protection, but never for aggression. The Minuit we start doing this the closer we will be to violating the 3rd Amendment.

I have more confidence in the U.S. Military than I would some kind of civilian police force for sure.

That's a tricky thing, there is this thing called Posse comitatus which prevents that. Now from my experience with the last Presidential Inauguration we (NG troops) were sworn in as special police officers. I am thinking they did the same thing here. Technically they are not there as military troops. Just police officers that happen to look a lot like a NG battalion

Your question seems a bit vague... let me try to clarify with some hypothetical situations.

1. Alligator Flue. A highly contagious disease appears and the Federal government call up troops to enforce quarantines and limit movement across state borders until the a cure is found. People in Louisiana are panicking and trying to get out of the state due to the high rates of infection and mortality. Are you concerned about something like this?

2. Yellowstone experiences a major eruption and almost a third of the US is rendered uninhabitable, the military conducts operations to extract pockets of survivors and stop looters. Are you concerned about something like this?

3. A revival takes place in America and Americans start giving away their worldly possessions and begin living to serve God and their fellow man. This crashes the economy and troops are sent out to ensure that everyone goes shopping for things they don't really need at least once a month. Are you concerned about something like this?

4. An evil cabal of Feminist Bankers and Gay University Professors seize control of the government and marches everyone who is White, Christian or Male into labor camps where they are forced to eat gay themed wedding cake and listen to Queen 24/7. Those who resist are shot. Are you concerned about something like this?

A little help understanding the hypothetical scenario your talking about would be helpful.

As much as i dislike it if there is not enough police support the military has means. i think since they would have a choice, your job would be to protect the non hostile citizens of the nation. It sucks, but "I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic"

Do what needs to be done. and maintain better professionalism then the ones that are suppose to be protecting them in the first place.
