Why are some unable express themselves appropriately when they disagree with others peoples opinions on topics?

We are taught how to communicate. Fortunately for me, I was taught another way from my leaders who saw much more in me than I was aware of. I was taught by these leaders to communicate and not attack. I chose to be who I have become and I am quite proud of the result.

Even though you might not agree with someone's opinion, you should hear them out. It is a valid issue to them, so by dismissing them so quickly shows a lack of concern and is the trait of a very petty person. All people have a right to disagree and equally be heard.

my biggest frustration with debate is that one when person brings up an issue, people then deflect...to another issue. Its like everyone had ADHD.
example....lets say I bring up that I cant vote for Hillary because she is dishonest. If your response is that Trump is dishonest, my thoughts are this - "that may very well be true, I didn't say he was honest, I thought we were talking about Hillary. So, are we talking about Hillary, Trump, all politicians...what are we talking about"?

I feel like Ben Carson addressed the issue nicely in his brief presidential campaign. We have to be able to talk about issues to include controversial ones. It serves no purpose to insult or intimidate someone just because they are wanting to engage on an issue you are uncomfortable with. All sides have some merit and you can really tell someone's level of maturity in how they interact with someone they disagree with.

I blame the decline of our school systems, the liberal agenda and "Political Correctness" that tell someone that if someone disagrees with them they are being "victimized" and that is they yell loud enough and make enough innuendos and accusations they well be seen as right, even when morally and ethically wrong. Name calling is easier than actually having to defend your point of view in rational manner.

It really comes down to a mater of respect for another person, As Msgt Holt posted. People want respect but are not willing to give respect unless you agree with them.
