In that time I moved from job to job at the rate of about every two years, sometimes less (sometimes a lot less). Once I found a job at a consulting company though, I finally felt at home. Here are the reason why I think this is so, and it is all due to prior service.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;1. There is a defined rank structure (analyst, senior analyst, consultant, etc.)&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;2. We deploy a lot. Nearly all of my projects (engagements) require me to travel (deploy) to a client location with a team (my platoon).&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;3. Constantly changing situations; Our military service has ingrained the ability adapt to change.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;4. Leadership. All projects need good leaders, even from those that aren&#39;t the official project leader.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;5. Diverse personalities.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;6. Work hard, play hard.
