Will my orders be something different from my projections?

So I'm currently in AIT for the 14E mos, and I have projections for Suwon AB, ROK. What are the chances of that changing once I get my orders? And if i do end up still going to Korea, will I just go wherever the army wants me to go?

Hmmm ... I once re-enlisted for Scout Platoon 4 BN 7th Signal Bde in Korea -
I wound up in Scout Plt, 1st Bn, 17th Inf Regt.
Not sure if that helped but its a heads up for you.

You'll most likely stay within that battalion. However, the battery or position may change.

SPC Private RallyPoint Member you can be assigned anywhere in Korea where they have a 14E10 slot. Most likely, you'll be assigned where there is a Patriot BN. Might be Suwon, might not. Final strength determination starts at Theater reception and ends with the CSM/BN S1 assigning you to a Battery.

Korea is priority fill unless you go to an SFAB...which doesn't have a Patriot requirement as far as I know. Unless the ADA BDE is grossly off kilter personnel wise, plan on going to Korea. Not the end of the world...it didn't kill me.

I was a maintenance NCO in Suwon for 1/43 ADA in 1995-96, the battalion was headquartered there but we had company’s in Suwon, Osan as well as Kunsan. Just come in with a good attitude and do your job, one site is no better or worse than YOU make it...Good Luck.

Your projections in ait 9.999 times out of ten will never change unless you get thaad or jet ucmjed my class where the only people I knew who’s projections changed our orders said fort bliss originally then they changed to WSMR and as far as after Korea idk I had a few of my buddies go from Korea to bliss brag or sill but I honestly couldn’t tell you how it works

Your Branch can change your orders any time they need to, tho the try very hard not too. If you fail AIT, then will go anywhere in whatever MOS they put you in. You can always ask for different locations, but the bottom lib=ne is the service is not a travel/vacation company and they will send you where THEY need you.

I was once in your shoes. Orders to Korea and a shot in the dark to change them. Well it didn't happen and I went to Suwon AB but worked in Osan. This was back when 1/43 ADA 6 Cav BDE was there. Unless you have some kind of hardship or special change come up, chances are you will be in Korea. Korea was not that bad. The Bn HQ is in Suwon so there is a chance you could be sent to one of the other 2 locations that PATRIOTS are. i was a 14E as well and really learned my job there. So good luck on getting orders changed but plan to be in Korea.

If there is a possibility of changing orders, you should ask for that change before orders are cut. It’s near impossible to change once cut especially for Korea
