Will they still be able to cancel my orders or now that my baby is gone will I have to follow through with my orders? How will having a miscarriage impact my overseas assignment orders being deleted due to pregnancy? 2022-12-29T19:42:14-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 8055890

I just found out I had a miscarriage yesterday but Im in the process of getting my orders deleted from an overseas assignment. Specific to your situation is 5-3e, "At the end of a pregnancy, (miscarriage, abortion, full term) and period of convalescence, the Soldier may be returned to an OCONUS area if she has not been credited with a completed OCONUS tour and travel is not medically contraindicated by a postpartum physical profile."

So, can you have oversea orders cut for you? Yes.
Will they? Depends.
If so, when? Longer answer...

The Army will give you the time you need to take care of yourself and your family. The convalescent leave period depends on how far along in your pregnancy you were before miscarriage occurred. This is covered in enclosure 3 of Army Directive 2022-06 (Parenthood, Pregnancy, and Postpartum).*

If required (again, depends on the length of your pregnancy), I believe you'll have to be given clearance by your medical provider in order to return to full duty and be eligible for overseas movement.

Bottom line: It's going to largely depend on what your medical provider says and how far along in your pregnancy you were. If you're cleared by your medical provider, then nothing will prohibit a new overseas assignment for you after convalescent leave is completed.
---------------------------------------------------------------
* AR 614-30: https://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/pdf/web/ARN6427_AR614-30_WEB_Final.pdf
* AD 2022-06: https://armyreup.s3.amazonaws.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/21191150/AD-2022-06.pdf

ARN6427_AR614-30_WEB_Final.pdf

Response by COL Randall C. made Dec 29 at 2022 8:40 PM 2022-12-29T20:40:20-05:00 2022-12-29T20:40:20-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 8056045

Sorry for your Loss SGT Private RallyPoint Member Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 29 at 2022 9:23 PM 2022-12-29T21:23:18-05:00 2022-12-29T21:23:18-05:00 CSM Darieus ZaGara 8056747

I am so sorry for your loss. First, does the military know about the loss of your child. COL Cudworth provided all of the regulatory information. I recommend that you go on regular sick call immediately if the loss occurred off base. That of course after an immediate phone call to your command.

Your health is number one, unit notification is paramount so that everything you need is supported and followed.

Once properly informed and under deliberate medical care you have the tools provided by the COL to ensure things go as they should once you start working with your S1 and branch.

God Soeed again, I am so sorry for your loss.
