Perhaps Sulemani had ordered the attacks on Saudi oilfields; perhaps Sulemani was responsible for attacks against foreign diplomats or; perhaps, like Saddam and his WMD stockpile, the intelligence community in the U.S. is in error. What is your assessment of the situation, as 5200 troops are readying to deploy into the region and under fear of retaliation from Iran; will there be escalation to conflict?

Not sure, but Canadians of Iranian Kurdish descent are happy while the Democratic Presidential Candidates and 2019 Progressives newbies AOC, Tlaib and Omar Complain.

I am happy. We will see, soon, if the Clandestine Iran Nuclear Program is actually the Clandestine nuke program we and the Israelis tried to sabotage with Stuxnet a few years ago.

I want to comment on the domestic environment and the potential consequences at home.

As we see the potential stirrings of another conflict, let us prepare ourselves.
There's a lot of hostility in several parts of our country these days. Let us love and inspire others to bridge dividing lines and Foster support for those who are already deployed and those who may deploy soon. More than just a glorification of military service, let our concern affect our political views and inform our views foreign policy.

As Mattis once said, " Look past the acrimony that sometimes surrounds issues and find a common cause of each other to take this country where it belongs in terms of it's concern for each other."

What if what if what if. No one has a crystal ball. What's important to instill is that everyone is responsible for their own actions. If john kills joe because joe killed alex then it is john's fault that he killed joe. John can blame joe, but johns actions are johns actions.
On Saddam Hussein: We do have a great deal of knowledge of his dictatorship and the amount of civilians that were murdered in cold blood because we did not kill him a decade sooner. Saddam Hussein was more than a dictator. He was pure evil. He would hang men or women and have their family attend the capital punishment. He would force them to cheer and clap or they would be killed as well. This was one of the very small atrocities he committed.

We will all find out. :) For my 2 cents, I don't believe much will change. Iran might test us once more, but if we hit them in the nose hard with a rolled up newspaper... they will back down for a few years; then in a few years they will try to take more power again. We need to remember these people have been doing this for thousands of years, they aren't likely to change in a few decades... maybe a hundred years or so. MHO

In response to your very interesting question on whether or not the U.S. Intelligence Community are in error and what is my assessment of the volatile situation by executing a Foreign Government Senior Military Officer and if there will be a future conflict? In the Middle East we don’t have all their answers to their problems. Especially when it comes done to culture differences. Of course there will be some repercussions from Iran no doubt. But who, when will this happen only God knows for sure. Our Country’s political leaders have no idea what the heck is going on over there. After the first Gulf War, we didn’t learn anything. And as history dictates it will be the same thing all over again. We never learn to never fight a battle if you don’t want to win.

Do you not believe the Quds Force is a terrorist organization? Do you not believe that hundreds of US servicemen were killed by IED's provided by/through the IRGC/Quds Force and Soleimani? Do you not believe any of the 38 years of history of this man?

The situation is pretty clear. Set aside the decades of Soleimani's activities in the region against us. We were directly attacked. Our embassy was under siege by forces loyal to the IRGC/Iran. He shows up in Baghdad and is linked to the activity. Whether he was linked to activity or not, he is the head of a terrorist organization and is a legitimate target of opportunity. He was taken out.

It is up to the Iranians what happens next. They are on notice that our response will be significant and disproportionate. The choice is theirs. They were caught in the act, they had their hand slapped pretty hard. The question is will they step back from the brink. Trump was lenient on them when it was a drone or an oil tanker or oil field etc. When Americans died and more were at risk he acted decisively.
