They are making some firearms in the US, but that is a recent development. Some &quot;American&quot; companies, such as Springfield, are making guns overseas. Taurus is a Brazilian company, and while they are now making some guns in the U.S., the majority come from Brazil. Some of the North American importers are in Canada, and guns come in through them from all over the world. <br /><br />Our Armed Forces carried Baretta handguns for many years, and those came from Italy. They are transitioning to SIG handguns, which are made in the U.S. <br /><br />There are a couple of large ammo manufacturers in Europe that have a huge American presence and market.
