Rather that be for pushing and better your resume for the Sfc board fy19? With the SSG Promotable's, will you wait till you pin SFC to start pushing to get ready for the msg board? I’m not talking about ncoers. Just for example maybe working for your mosvm, BAIB, Senior instructor badge, jump master, things in that nature. Would love to see what everyone’s plans are.

For me; I PCS’d to fort lee when the board closed. I have earned my mosvm, basic badge, and one tech cert and as far as troops I got one troop to take the DLPT( I took the dlab to motivate him to do it) he did really well, me not so much. However, as a teacher I just teach Troops about their SRB, correspondence courses, for young soldiers going to their first unit. For the Ssg that just got promoted to Ssg i just tell them what I did to make SFC gave them my “continuity book for Sfc” With the SFC board over, and everyone getting the good news or the bad, what’s your next move? 2018-08-19T20:07:06-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 3893920

So with the SFC board over, and everyone got the good news or the bad. Those that are looking for their next promotion as they pin or prior generally fall to the wayside after E7. It is almost assured destruction as they forget why they are there I. The first place, to train and prepare our Soldiers for combat. It is their readiness that gets you promoted. Thank you for your service. We don't do this for us ... we do everything to make it the best we can for the troops...remember everyone wants to have that leg up on promotions... going the extra mile is great .. ... but being so focused on having this or that for promotion ultimately can lead to failure to take care of Soldiers... i found if your erb is up to date and a good Da photo Promotions will come... I was usually already serving in a position at least one grade higher, so I just concentrated on doing my job. I tried to do the best I could to support my peers and superiors, while leading and looking out for my subordinates. As has been pointed out, do the job you are being paid to do, and be the best at it that you can. If you take care of your troops and the mission, everything will work out. I’m asking what they are doing to continue to separate. I personally won’t get promoted for another year. My seq number is pretty high. I have worked as the next higher rank in all my grades. I just wanted to know what a lot of people are doing. However, being airborne my entire career. No offense to the higher leadership however, I think leadership is going to happen no matter what good and bad. I do think learning your job and if you been in all the jobs in your mos then getting better at your craft. I just wanted to know what people are doing othe than what you will do no matter what. The no matter what is leading troops, doing your job, and doing pt. First of all I am not trying to make excuses, I need legitimate advice, not criticism.

Here is my story... On Jul 3rd, I had back surgery ( Laminectomy and Microdisectomy). I came of con leave by choice early on Jul 30. I was selected for E-7 with a sequence number of 35. 55 have already been promoted in the last 2 months. I received an email with an SLC date on 19 July. Coming of CON leave I was taped at 30%, 267. Fast forward to 30 Aug taped at 26%, 251. I am 6’2. I know failed both. Working on that. I have a limited temporary profile with a pt test eligibility date of 6 Oct. My school date is 8 Oct. I know I can get there before then, however should I risk it. What if I injure something during the next month from the surgery. What if I get pre-taped again soon and then be flagged (what medical conditions can you not be flagged for). Here are my choices: Keep pushing and try to make the Oct Dat or Request deferment because of back surgery and try to get a later date, hopefully January 6. But it could be as long as another year (956 puckup and 800 not yet qualified to pin). Please help and ask questions. I really want to go to the Oct school date.
