(2) An S.79 attacks a British destroyer at the entrance to Malta's Grand Harbour. (3) A Fiat Br.20 heads for sea after bombing Malta's Grand Harbour. (4) German Ju-88s bomb Malta's Grand Harbour. (5) Sgt. Plt. George Buerling skims above the Mediterranean in his 249 Sqdn. Spitfire Vb (Trop.) after downing an MC.202 off Malta's coast. (6) Sgt. Plt. George Buerling makes a head-on pass at a climbing MC.202 over Malta.

Wow, are you up early. The Spitfire was a great attack aircraft, and they helped out tremendously against the attack.

Malta really was a thorn in the Axis' side. The RAF was able to keep the Western Mediterranean open for the Allies.

The Italians definitely had some great aviaton designers. For every thing else military, not so much.
