I don't know if I am allowed to post this..let me know. My brother Mike served in Vietnam; Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze star. A wounded warrior who has a giant heart. I got this letter from him today. Would I march with him? Absolutely. So here is what he sent me:
Good Folks,
Would it be a bad idea if we as Americans marched with our American flags on college campuses and universities that are experiencing protests? Do we need to set a date and let the world know that we believe in free speech but will not tolerate anti-Semitism by students supporting Hamas or have its flag flying on our campuses?
If we were to march, would we march as Americans with no party affiliation-- just plain citizens? Is it time to reach out to all your friends and military organizations to select TBD a day to march? Speak up now or wait for another Oct 7th or 9-11. This fight needs to be fought where it began: in the Middel East, not on our soil. Our goal should be the following:
1) Understand that there is no place for anti-Semitism or Hamas flags to be recognized on any campus in the United States.
2) No College or University should be held hostage by any group for demonstrations that disrupt their Graduation or the safety of their students.
3) To my Palestinian friends: you cannot have it both ways. Stop supporting the Oct 7th Hamas attack and vote them out of power. If you don' t, there will never be peace.
4 ) If you are an alum of any these College or Universities affected, rally with the graduating students so they can enjoy their moment of accomplishment.
5) We need to remember 9-11, the wars we fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the men and women who are suffering with the scars from those wars.
6) Show respect to our 1st responders: firemen, police, medical professionals all working as one team on 9-11, still suffering from that attack on our Freedom.
7) We are a country that is losing its identity. We have too many great people who work for the good of our Country , let's not fail them.
How good are we?
If the country would march, I would march with them against anti-Semitism.
If my county will not march, l still will.
