Unless Reserves has a hidden nuance Your Direct Commission Fedreq does not take long mine showed up between 5 or 6 months from my appointment by the state Fed Req is FedReq the difference for Guard is NGB facilitates the packets since we don't utilize HRC.

I was picked up for 70D and the recruiter just confirmed that scroll is in but memo from HSD that says we can commission is still pending. Any idea on how long the memo will take?

Memo can take a little while. My timeline was October Board, early December Appointment Memo from HRC, late December scroll approval memo from HSD, January commission, and now still waiting on discharge orders from enlisted unit before I can be cut orders for new unit. You’re commissioned as soon as you swear oath and complete DA71, but you may be sitting a little bit longer while the paperwork catches up to you.

In the National Guard, you can “scroll” for 8 or more months before it’s finally approved.

I was just selected during the Oct board
and am awaiting scroll approval. I am wondering the same thing as you. I am very eager to get the ball rolling.

Congrats! I commissioned in January. Took me from October to January for the whole process of board selection to commission.

That timeline isn’t too bad. Thanks for the reply. How are you liking it so far? CPT (Join to see)

1LT (Join to see) it is what you make it. My unit assignment changed, but it’s a great opportunity and very different from the E side.
