Bio 

SFC Daniel A. Purdom was born in Garland, TX, and entered the U. S. Army from Richford, NY in August 2001. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and graduated Advanced Individual Training at Fort Huachuca, AZ, as a 33W (now 35T), MI Systems Maintainer/Integrator. He has served in every leadership role from team leader to platoon sergeant. SFC Purdom was assigned to HHSC, 311th MI BN from October 2002 to September 2004, during which he deployed on his first 12-month tour to Iraq. He was then assigned to B Co, STB, 3rd BCT (Rakkasans), 101st ABN DIV (AASLT) from September 2004 to February 2007, during which he deployed on his second 12-month tour to Iraq. He was then assigned to B Co, STB, 173rd Airborne BCT from March 2007 to March 2009, during which he deployed on a 14-month deployment to Afghanistan. He was then assigned to HOC, 742nd MI BN, 704th MI BDE from March 2009 to July 2012, with an attachment to HOC, 741st MI BN from August 2010 to June 2011 for an eight-month deployment to the Horn of Africa. He was then assigned to C Btry, 1st BN, 79th FA, where he serves as the platoon sergeant for 3rd Platoon, “Regulators.” SFC Purdom is a Commandant’s List graduate of Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, and Warrior Leaders Course, as well as a graduate of Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Modern Army Combatives Level 1, Combat Live Savers Course, Master Drivers Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, and various other professional development courses. He has completed 45 credit hours towards degrees in Electronics and Intelligence Studies with Cochise College in Sierra Visa, AZ.
