Sent from basic to Aberdeen Proving Grounds & taught welding but became involved with the Post Basketball team traveling to many military nearby military bases. Next to Ft. Benning & drove for a Bird Col. while boxing. Tested and they offered to send me to Language Scool at Presideo, CA. For 47 was after which I would have to read for another tour (3yrs). I said "no thank you. My reward was 'Frozen Chosin'. First at Tong du Chon near Camp Casey (7th Div) & Mickey Mouse Corner (1st Cav). Played basketball for Camp Casey until Captain had me transferred TDY to him in Uijongbu (I Corp) Special Services. Played basketball football baseball $ ran a swim pool & gymnasium. Back to Country Ft. Meade MD to do the same. Day of DISCHARGE got 'extended' 5 mo. by President due to the Berlin Wall - 9/61
