Born 9/18/1942, Hopkinsville, KY. Grew up Warner Robins, GA. Graduated and commissioned (ROTC) from North Georgia College (now University of North Georgia) in 1964. Married Shelby Ellis Stone in 1965. Two sons, John H. Griscom III and Shelby York Griscom. Six grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Active duty - Aug 64 - Nov 75; USAR - Dec 75 - Aug 92. DAC - Dec 75 - Apr 2001.

Civilian Plans Officer in G3 Plans Division. Managed Army units deployment and redeployment information to and from Southwest Asia. Deployed for Operation Desert Storm, Operation Vigilant Warrior and two CENTCOM Bright Star Exercises.
