Deputy Commanding Officer of a taskforce consisting of US, Coalition Forces and Defense contractors to develop a highly specialized infantry force for the Afghanistan National Army.
• Managed a $300M program to recruit, equip, train and field six 685-member Commando Battalions and a Brigade Headquarters for the Afghanistan National Army.
• Established successful working relationships with the surrounding villages by arranging humanitarian support, building schools and hiring locals to work on the camp; a metric of success was that Camp Morehead was never attacked.
